Stove Maintenance Tips
- Replacing Failed Burner Elements – The heating elements on electric stoves can be replaced if they are giving you trouble. Improper removal can cause the prongs to be bent, resulting in faulty connections. Inspect the burners periodically and replace them as necessary. The grates or rims around the burner elements can be washed in the sink with gentle dish soap. Use vinegar and a cloth to remove mineral deposits from the burner element (electric).
- Do Not Use Oversize Pots – Extremely heavy, large pots can damage burner elements and grates. Use only the size pots recommended for your model stove.
- Clean Oven Interior 3x Year – Depending on usage, you should plan on doing a thorough cleaning of the oven about 3 times per year. Avoid using strong chemicals. Use only cleaning solutions recommended by the manufacturer. If the oven is self-cleaning, do not use any solutions UNLESS the manufacturer recommends it.
- Start The Process Early – When you buy a new stove, treat it like the investment that it is, and remember to start regular cleaning routine habits. This prevents problem dirt and grease buildup areas from ever becoming a long therm problem.
