Microwave Cleaning Made Easy – Protect Your Microwave
Did you know that repeatedly scrubbing the inside of your microwave oven with harsh chemicals or abrasive scouring pads and sponges can actually scratch and damage the surfaces of the unit? There is an easier and safer way to clean the inside of your microwave oven.
Obtain a microwave safe bowl big enough to hold about two cups of water. Fill with water and add either dish soap, lemon juice, or vinegar to the water. Then run the microwave on high for one minute. The water solution will heat up, condensate, and the inside surfaces of the microwave will become damp with the cleaning solution.
After one minute, simply open the microwave door and carefully remove the bowl. Use a clean, soft cloth to wipe away the condensation. Any dirt and food residue from prior cooking will have been loosened up by the condensation of the cleaning solution, allowing you to easily wipe it away with the cloth, thus protecting the inside of your microwave from scratches and damage from harsh cleaning chemicals!
An added bonus to this method of cleaning your microwave is the water in the bowl was never actually touched! It can now be safely “reused” to clean other surfaces in your kitchen like your countertops, cabinets, or stovetop, thus avoiding using more water than is necessary.
